What a long strange pandemic trip it’s been! One of our biggest outlets for staying sane in Vancouver has easily been taking in nature’s elements and exercise. With all the awkward WFH setups, unsettling news and couch sitting sessions, our bodies have had to adjust just as much as our minds have too.
Massages are not only enjoyable but highly effective as well! Deep tissue massage is an excellent way to unlock stubborn areas of tension, discomfort and heavy stress. Giving your body and mind the rehabilitation it needs to continue to stay active, grounded and healthy.

Before each session is our time to check in and connect with how you’re really feeling. Through assessment tools and communication, we cover health history, symptoms + your current treatment goals.
Checking in as we go, we will always work within your boundaries, comfort zone and consent. Ready to adjust our depth of pressure and communicate with you through any “hot spots” that may have more intense sensations from focused and deeper work.

In areas that are really tight or restricted, the sensation of deep tissue techniques may feel more intense but also incredibly satisfying and relieving. It’s important that there is open communication between the therapist and client to be sure the level of depth is within your tolerance zone. Your RMT will ALWAYS work within your happy medium of therapeutic pressure!
You may feel a bit tender in the areas of focused deep tissue work directly following your massage, or later in the evening, as well as over the next couple of days. This is all a normal part of processing the work. Though if you feel your experiencing too much of what we call “kick back” discomfort. Let your therapist know at your next assessment and she will be happy to make adjustments for a better dose of deep tissue depth.
Though depending on how chronic or how acute your issue may be, longer lasting results and recovery may take multiple sessions for the most optimal results. We recommend trying 3 sessions consecutively (with a week to two in between sessions) to integrate longer lasting change.
